How long - we sing this song...
I wanna run….
By: Chris Goldby ∣ Hickory Algorithm
⬆️ Art has a way of doing that. ⬆️
Creating something bigger than ourselves.
Individual to individual. One person to two, two into three till an arena of individuals come together - unite. Sing with each other and ignore what clogs the mind, for only, what feels like a moment.
A still moment.
Inspiration in vibration.
A rocket to space.
And when I go there.
I’ll go there with you.

This Month’s Creator Spotlight
Brandon Flowers
On the Hickory Algorithm stories and Substack notes during the month of January will feature the words of Brandon Flowers. One of my favorite singer songwriters and front man of The Killers. His writing has only gotten better as he has aged. Moving back to his tiny hometown after moving to Las Vegas to chase, achieve, and then leaving them behind. After the glitz and glam of the star lights of Las Vegas he moved his family back to their home town and created two of the best piece of work.
He has inspired me to base the main character of my screenplay on.
as he creates he helps me create.
Thank you Brandon Flowers.

One a big rock and roll anthem:
Imploding the Mirage
One a small town return.

Slippin' in my fait until fall, He never returned that call. I feel like anyone with faith in anything has felt like that at some point. So many great songs from Brandon. I used to sit in art class around the time Sams Town came out. My teacher let students bring in records and play it during class. There was always the current pop, current country (Wilkes county), and of course Metallica and Nirvana. But when it was my turn I brought in Sams Town and I remember my art teacher never having heard of the killers, was in love with that album that semester.
